it's hot w/ dragonflies. & recipes - garlic scapes. - mushroomscape - 2 dream deer. coyotes, a pheasant, hawks. and one fine bush lily.
what is it about daddy longlegs & woodpiles. harvestman, an animal, not a spider or Opilionids and Pholcids. the toe-biters (giant water bugs) yonder, not exactly pleasant imo, pincers just too huge. a cloud of bees in mint patch. a peony, languishing, now closer to ant hill. the little ants, crazy for yarrow. wasps, we've reached an accord. some romas have ripened, delicious, must grow more next year. other tomatoes have flowers again. parsley and romaine lettuce from seed - whoot!
hot, then rainy, and hot some more. dragonflies. and that was a lynx! the squirrel visits at plantings. it enjoyed some half potatoes, quinoa is all gone. a couple of what seemed to be brewer's blackbirds, very beautiful. they stayed for a while. squirrel: sunflowers are up, all over. elements: savory too. skunks and a juvenile porcupine, deer and coyotes. and mushrooms!
a warm, long summer. into autumn. ergo. one additional tire of potatoes, planted on sept 1st. (!)
