No. 4 of 4. synonyms... common names: parlor palm, parlour palm, neanthe bella palm, good luck palm. Genus: Chamaedorea. rainforest, understory, tropical & sub-tropical. southern Mexico, Guatemala, central America. the unopened inflorescences are edible.

begonias have been blooming all winter. the plants are robust. it's -35C.

it snowed

snow fell again. 6-7-8 hours or so of daylight, 5x as much snow  as usual. overall, piles, overcast monochromia, polar vortex. ice, frost quakes, phat frost, flash freeze... freezes.

purple snow

purple snow @purpledawn and full moonsets—tinsel, glitter, frost.  the parlour palm is at it again.
snowdrifts, blizzards. chipmunk (or a red squirrel). white, white hares with charcoal ear tips. the deer, mice, bluejays,  chickadees, owls, coyotes, ravens, 100huddled geese, northern flicker, crows, skunks, porcupine. lots of tracks and a sundog.

there's probably a reasonable explanation for this =>double moon images when there's 1 full moon. don't ask me

so, that's that. potted flowers are all in now.  dug out some herbs. in 2012: october 15.

more than 2 months of fantastical cascading crimsons. it hadn't bloomed in years, decades, eons. Cactaceae, mashup.
