coyotes. a couple of swainson's hawks. gulls & geese. cedar waxwings at mountain ash berries (rosaceae. genus: sorbus). bald eagle. owl, robins. song. porcupines. still seeding, planning. the garden hardiness zone seems more like 2 or 3, or zero. last year's potatoes lasted almost all winter. many shard puddles. ladybugs, other beetles, ants, spiders, moths. a definite sign of spring and it just keeps snowing. prairie crocuses... april's a pink {sprouting grass, egg, fish} moon, farmer's almanac. the giant ice cubes, receding.
geese are flying, 2 large flocks. it's -17C (1F) or -24C (-11F) wind chill. jackrabbits, a bit of grey. a bald eagle fly-by. light sunsnowers.
Californias, they're back. About a week now. (sounds) how d'ya like that. hibiscus in bloom is in the Malvaceae family, like hollyhock.
whoa. what a big melt. the daisies have new shoots. (and here i've been indoors picking fallen palm flowers from the rug, with tweezers.) it's like. it's like... it's like half grass, half snow. w/chunks of ice. very unusually ... early! so, gave water, threw leaves, covered with snow.
