sunsnowers

3/15/2013

after the first bug encounter, it snowed heaps, then got warm for days and dazy daisies. and blue flax, and yarrow. just flipped 25 degrees celsius: it's cold again

white jackrabbits are grey-splotchy, a pair of geese. fog musters, never have seen so much dense fog than this winter—ghostly coyote, heard more. even a one-hour squall, sun..squall.sun.  ladybugs, under they go again.

meanwhile: the meager potato crop, forgot about it, so now it's all sprouts. yay! gotta get those going. (supposedly, reds are better.)

the potato crop

it took probably 20-25 hours of labour, got a quarter bucket. at a low minimum wage,  it's $200/pound. the final sprouts were the cutest.
potato condo
so, opted for a kilo of mung beans at store: $15. it snowed and melted twice. deep leaves, ladybugs burrowing all over.  a new moon.
autumn leaves
coulda planted earlier (was mid-july). woulda got more potatoes. shoulda put it in more sun (just 2-4 hours a day). the soil was so-so. shoulda not covered plant when condo-ing... maybe next year.

also, difficult: the vertical garden w/ pallet.
