FLOOD TIP: Do not store your flashlight in the basement. It's hard to find in pitch black, likewise, the fuse box. Especially after nearly being hit by lightening outside pouring skywater up to knees and thunder noise crashing the head running paralysis skyfright and rain-blur eyes that can't see through skywater. Or basement to see in sudden chaos of backed-up sewagefecal water wading through spurting foundation concrete new waterfalls. Walls, and anyway it won't work because it's wet. So the household fuse box shut-down is delayed, but firefighters appear at the kitchen window waist deep wading and mixing electricity with water not good they fix it. Someone had candles it was very cold for a week furnace gone hot water tank gone electricity gone just muck, and the neighbor's basement windows popped like a big ship's sinking they swam, swam out in sudden churning ceiling water and up a stairwell escape hatch and just their pet cat drowned and yellow condemned house dude had nothing but his keys-wallet-jeep drove away and didn't come back.  archive
